World Show Month, or August 2012 as it's formerly known, brings horse enthusiasts three of the year's biggest and most prestigious events. Between the AQHYA World Show in Oklahoma City, the NSBA World Show in Tulsa and the AQHA Select World in Amarillo, trainers, owners, exhibitors and vendors are going to be extremely busy.
This year's August issue of GoMag, by far our largest August issue ever, is filled with the leaders of the industry as they set out to conquer World Show Month. We wish all of them the very best of luck in their pursuit of a highly-coveted World Championship title.
Griffin Knight, a recent honors graduate from Madisonville, Texas, is entering her final Youth World Show with much anticipation. Having shown horses the majority of her life, Griffin is excited to pursue her college career this fall at Auburn University while riding for the Auburn Equestrian team.
Knight is the current president of the Texas Quarter Horse Youth Association and has been involved in a myriad of school, extracurricular, and community service activities.
Griffin was honored to be an AQHYA World Show finalist in horsemanship and reining as well as a multiple top-10 placer at the All American Quarter Horse Congress.
The horse pictured with Knight is Blue Walkers Terms who is under the guidance of Bruce Walquist. This team will be showing in horsemanship, showmanship, trail and western riding at the World Show. Not pictured is Knight's reiner, Tangys Classy Banjo, trained by Nathan Piper.
Knight feels truly blessed to be showing two amazing horses and thanks Walquist and Piper for their endless support and dedication.Knight has mixed emotions about her youth career ending, however, she is excited to compete once again at the Youth World and Congress.
