Mitch Leckey and Unique Fashion won the $200,000 Three Year Old Novice Horse Breeder's Western Pleasure Saturday night at the Southern Belle Invitation beating 25 other horses. The premier class featured talented horses ridden by some of the leading trainers in the industry. This duo tied for first with HP Only The Best ridden by Darren Putnam, but Tunica luck was on their side, and they won the tie-breaker and received a purse of $43,875.

GoHorseShow would like to congratulate Ken and Marilyn Masterson of Masterson Farms whose breeding stallion, RL Best Of Sudden, sired three of the top five in the class including the champion and reserve champion. The winner, ridden by Leckey is by RL Best Of Sudden and out of Ginnie Mae Flash. Ken Masterson told GoHorseShow.com Saturday night that he is very proud of his stallion. "Bo has had an enormously successful Southern Belle, Tom Powers, and Little Futurity. We are so happy for the owners, exhibitors, and breeders who are doing so well with our stallion's offspring."

We would also like to congratulate the Medows family of Cuba, Missouri for owning this newly crowned champion. The happy owner, Jeff Medows, told GoHorseShow.com, "I'm so excited about this mare. She is great minded, and Mitch did a wonderful job with her. She has shown in four classes and is still undefeated," Jeff proudly says. "Jack (Jeff's son) and the mare won the Three Year-Old Limited Non Pro earlier this week and Mitch and Jack were co-champions in two classes at the Top Powers. Our next goal is for Jack and Blanca to do well in the 12-14 Western Pleasure at the Congress."

Leckey also literally hit the jackpot when he won the drawing for a one year's use of a horse trailer that was donated by Stanley and Susan Scott and also won $5,000 for riding in a Harris Leather and Silverworks Saddle. Thanks to the Scott's and Harris family for supporting the exhibitors with these extra bonuses!
