Rock Star Horse Shows is excited to announce some fun new classes and prizes at their shows coming up the next few months. Headed by show managers, Michele Wilheim and Sydney Miller, the Virginia Classic has been taken over this year by Rock Star where the show will offer six sets of points and Tim Kimura trail patterns. The show will be held April 11th through the 14th at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia.
"We are excited to have Harris Leather and Silverworks as a major sponsor this year. They have graciously donated a Harris saddle for our new versatility challenge class valued at $10,000," says Miller, who is also thankful for Harris and their generous support of their past shows. "There will be three classes that will count toward the versatility challenge: trail, western riding, and western pleasure. We will have not only great classes for western pleasure and hunter under saddle horses, but with this class, we are excited to be rewarding the all-around horses."
The Hylton Maiden Three and Over Western Pleasure Class will also be held again this year and will follow the NSBA payout schedule. There will be a guaranteed $15,000 added and according to Miller, the class, which is sponsored by VQHA, will pay down deep into the placings. Also, the majority of the $1500 entry fee will be paid back into the purse. The deadline to enter is March 15--there is a $500 late fee if entered after this date.
To be eligible for circuit awards, exhibitors must show to all judges, and to qualify for the high points, the exhibitors must show in their respective halter classes. Show bucks will be randomly awarded throughout the show that may be applied to their show tab. The show is AQHA, VQHA, and NSBA approved, and esteemed judges for the Virginia Classic include: Doug Huls, Andrea Simons, Daren Wright, Nancy Swarm, and Dolly Chayer. Rock Star Horse Show's other show coming up soon is the NCQHA District V Spring Show that will be held May 10th through the 12th in Williamston, North Carolina. There is a $315.00 flat fee that includes one stall and unlimited AQHA classes/divisions for one horse.
The judges for the show include Kenny Hall, and Jennifer Leckey. This is a leveled AQHA show with the leveling option available in the Amateur and Youth Division with the exception of the fence classes. When completing entries, exhibitors must declare whether they are showing in the intermediate or open section of their division. There is also an optional $125.00 flat fee for NSBA classes.
Some fun prizes at the show will be an iPad for whoever places first on Kenny Hall's card on Saturday in the Open Ranch Horse Pleasure. Their signature class, the $25,000 Novice Western Pleasure Class is back again this year as well as Rock Star adding a $10,000 Novice Horse Hunter Under Saddle Class.
The entry fee for the Novice Horse Western Pleasure Class (all-breed) is $1850 and the entry fee for the Novice Horse Hunter Under Saddle Class (all-breed) is $1,000. Fifty-five percent of the entry fee will be paid back into the purses for these classes. The deadline to register for these classes is April 15th. Late fee after the 15th is $500 for the Novice Horse Western Pleasure Class and $400 for the Novice Horse Hunter Under Saddle Class. The payout for these classes will follow the NSBA payout schedule.
"We are excited about how the numbers were up last year for this show," Miller states. "This is the first time the $10,000 hunter under saddle class will be offered at this show, so we are hoping trainers will bring twice as many horses and people as they did last year. We are predicting this show will become a must go to show every year!"
The Novice Horse classes will follow the NSBA green rules where a horse must have earned less than ten points, and $1,000 in earnings.
