2008 started great for Ted Turner. He went into partnership with NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw and all indications were that Ted was more on top of the world than ever. Then in September Ted was diagnosed with cancer, had to undergo two surgeries and missed the Congress for the first time in 25 years. Fortunately Ted was down, but most certainly not out. While at the Congress, we received a call from wife Dar informing us that the doctors had given Ted a clean bill of health and he was cancer free. Ted showed at the World Show mere weeks after the last surgery and had enough strength to carry two more gold trophies home with him, bringing his AQHA-leading “ Most World Championships by an Open Exhibitor” total to 65. I think it’s safe to say he’s back.
