"The Lucky 7 was a great show," says Meg DePalma, amateur rider, who shows in the all-around events with her horse, Zip Back N Yak. "We have never shown in Tennessee so we weren't sure how it was going to turn out. The amateur classes were three to four pointers, and with six judges, it was definitely worth the trip from Georgia." According to Lucky 7 Show Secretary Pat Kress, the estimated total for the six shows was over 5400 entries!

The Show For Dough paid out $53,390 in Tunica this past weekend. Exhibitors left with payout checks in their hands and the show is getting RAVE reviews from all who attended including GoHorseShow.com's own Jennifer Simpson. Congratulations to Gil Galyean and Eazy Dayzie (Dayzie) on winning the Three Year Old $2,500 Limited Horse Western Pleasure Signature Class at the Show For Dough! TThe total payout for the class was $19,000, and Galyean and Dayzie received $8,550 for winning the class.

Texas Amateur Quarter Horse Association made everyone feel very welcome and put on a great show in Waco.
The Texas Amateur State Championship Show was held in Waco, Texas, April 24th through the 28th in conjunction with the Big Country Quarter Horse Association Show. The judges for the show were Holly Hover, April Devitt, Casey Devitt, Steve Meadows, Jeffrey Pait, and Lance Treptow.

The Virginia Quarter Horse Classic was just held April 11th through the 15th at the gorgeous, Virginia Horse Park that is located in Lexington, Virginia. The Rock Star managed show was a huge success with 6600 total entries and a total of six sets of points. The judges for the show were Randy Alderson, Nancy Swarm, Andrea Simons, Tina Anderson, Laura Gilmer, Doug Huls, Louis Hufnagel, Daren Wright, Dolly Chayer, John and Betsy Tuckey, and Tanya Green.

The premier event at the show was the Three Year-Old and Over Novice Horse Western Pleasure Slot Class which was won by Brian Cox showing, The Best Martini owned by Rhonda Malone.
The Southern Ohio Quarter Horse Association Winter Circuit was held this past weekend in Wilmington, Ohio at Roberts Arena. It was a four day show that was AQHA, NSBA, SOQHA, and OQHA approved and had a flat rate of $400 per horse. According to SOQHA President Judd Paul, the show awarded over $60,000 in cash and prizes and there was a total of 5700 entries over the four day show.

The Oklahoma Spring Quarter Horse Show was held this past weekend in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the Oklahoma City State Fairgrounds. There was five full shows in four days that were AQHA and OQHA approved. The judges for the show were Mike Hawkins, Brad Jewett, Gretchen Mathes, Chris Jones, Jeff Allen, Holly Hover, Kent Martin, Morgan Lybbert, Gary Putman, David Warner, Sarah Good, Terry Beck and Robert Tweedlie.

The Gordyville USA Winter Show was just held this past weekend with great judges, prizes, and unpredictable weather. However, luckily the weather doesn't matter since Gordyville is all under one roof! The judges for the show were Bennie Sargent, Bruce Walquist, Mike Hawkins, Stephanie Lynn, Jason Smith, and Tina Anderson.

The Silver Dollar Circuit is currently underway in Las Vegas, Nevada. "I look forward to this show every year," says Jeff Johns, who shows in the amateur events with Jim and Deanna Searles. "The facility is one of the best in the country and there is so much to do even when you aren't riding or in the show pen. It also helps that you can wake up in the morning and watch the horse show on your television in the room. Finally, it's Vegas; how can you not have fun here?"

"Exhibitors came from all over the southeast--and it was some tough competition," Henry states.
The TQHA Spring Celebration was held this past weekend at the Roane State Henry/Stafford Ag Expo Center in Harriman, Tennessee. "Despite the chilly temperatures leading up to the show, the sun did shine on us over the weekend, bringing warmer temperatures," says Christine Henry, show manager for the show. "We had great participation from the youth, especially in the 14-18. There were also 17 in the Youth Performance Geldings!"
